In churches you would hear the song “come into my heart, come into my heart. Come into my heart Lord Jesus. Come in today, come in to stay. Come into my heart Lord Jesus”
When you listen to most believers, you see how confused they are and that is why the devil takes advantage of our ignorance. We may sing with emotions and even cry and roll on the floor but it makes no difference if we don’t understand what we are doing. This song is purely for the unbeliever or the backslidden. Songs are great confessions. When you sing inviting Jesus to your heart, you are first of all saying that he is not there. If he were there you wouldn’t have to invite him. So when a believer sings this song he is denying that Jesus is in his heart and starting to receive him afresh. Don’t be carried away by how the song moves you.
So at one moment when you meet a brother you say “Christ in you”, the next moment you start singing “come into my heart”. Is he in you? Or are you now trying to get him into you? Satan loves to hang around confused people like this.
Last week you sang the song in church. This week you are still singing it. The question is “when you sang last week did he come into your heart?” If he came why are you singing it today? Is it that you don’t believe he came? Or does he go on a holiday?
John 14:23Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him.
Halleluiah! He comes to make a home in our hearts. He doesn’t come to visit. He doesn’t go on vacation.
We must believe that he is truly in us. When we get this, we wouldn’t be singing to invite him again and again as if he is not there.

This is an unnecessary rant. There are people who pray prayers that theologians like you will rubbish, but their father in heaven understands what they are saying.
Can you use the same logic to advice married couples that if you tell your spouse I love you, then that’s it?

Dear Mensah, we appreciate your comment on our blog on our latest post. One of the greatest needs in African Christianity has been learning to walk in the revealed word of God. We think that God understands everything whether we do it the way he instructed us or not. That has been the African Christians number one problem.
Coming to your comment, when you tell your spouse I love you, what do you do next?. You demonstrate it. You say I love you again to reaffirm your love and prove it to your spouse by your actions.
Imaging you marrying your spouse and everyday asking her again and again “baby would you please marry me”. The next place she may take you to is probably to see the psychiatrist. Since she is already your wife why do you propose again?
Similarly if you invited Jesus into your heart, your confessions and songs should testify that you received him. You can declare Christ in me, the greater one leaves in me etc. Inviting him again and again is a sure sign of unbelief. This has nothing to do with theology at all.
Once again, changing people’s theology is such a hard thing to do. Jesus had a hard time getting folks in his day to quit their religious dogmas. So I understand. But we may have to embrace certain truths and walk in them if we desire to grow in our walk with God.
We look forward to learning with you. Bless your heart.
