Pastor Benjamin Yakubu, who invited us for our maiden programme in Kofrikrom, recommended us to his friend Pastor John Awuni, the Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church in Zabrama. In response to his persistent calls, we headed towards the north to Zabrama, a large village lying 26 miles north of Kintampo. Islam and fetishism dominated the town. Mallamic powers and other forms of black powers dominated the people. The town had no electricity and the nature of the road was so poor that journeying on it was very uncomfortable. We reached the place around 5:30 in the evening. Although exhausted, we had little time to rest. We prepared for the evening service.
The following morning we had a teaching service with them and held an outdoor meeting in the centre of the town. The evening programme was successful. We fearlessly proclaimed Christ as Lord and the only way to eternal life. Those who were appointed unto salvation believed. We prayed with them and rejoiced greatly.
On day three, we preached at dawn on their generator powered information centre and held teaching services for the church in the morning. We had a special session with fathers and mothers, and young girls to address peculiar needs of both groups. We discussed the word of God in the evening service at the centre of the town and blessed the people so much. Through the discussion we clarified misconceptions about the faith and strengthened the believers in the whole town in the faith.
On day four, we continued to use their information centre at dawn to preach and held morning teaching and prayer session for the church. In the afternoon we were moved farther to another town called ABEASE to plant a church there. The journey was rough.
We were filled with joy to break grounds there for the Assemblies of God Church. We organized ourselves quickly and got the town gathered at the crusade ground. Jesus was fearlessly made known to the people.
The following day, we did a house to house evangelism in the afternoon. The evening saw large gathering of people. Almost all the children came to be prayed for. Many received Christ. We appreciated the Lord for making our journey successful.
On day 6 which was Sunday, we planted the first assemblies of God church in Abease. The converts who desired to fellowship with the church turned up beautifully. We prayed with them and bid them goodye.
Today, we have news that the church is doing very well. They have planted another church in one of the surrounding villages. We are glad that the Gospel is spreading everywhere. HALLELUJAH
