YOU HAVE HEARD IT PREACHED AND SUNG THAT GOD SAID “I WANT TO SEND SOMEONE, WHO WILL GO FOR ME” AND JESUS SAID “SEND ME, I WILL GO”. IS THIS TRUE? WAS THE SCRIPTURE REFERRING TO JESUS?

YOU HAVE HEARD IT PREACHED AND SUNG THAT GOD SAID “I WANT TO SEND SOMEONE, WHO WILL GO FOR ME” AND JESUS SAID “SEND ME, I WILL GO”.
IS THIS TRUE? WAS THE SCRIPTURE REFERRING TO JESUS?

WE HAVE NO EXCUSE. WE CANNOT KEEP BELIEVING ANYTHING BECAUSE A PREACHER SAID SO. GOD EXPECTS US TO EXAMINE AND VERIFY EVERY MESSAGE WITH HIS WORD.

Act 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and EXAMINED the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

WE SEE PEOPLE SWEATING AND SHOUTING AS THEY PREACH. ALTHOUGH THEY MAY BE SINCERE, YOU’LL REALIZE THAT WHAT THEY ARE PREACHING IS AN ERROR. THEY WOULD WANT YOU TO BELIEVE THAT GOD GAVE THE MESSAGE SPECIFICALLY TO THEM. HOW UNFORTUNATE! NOW LET’S LOOK AT WHERE THIS POPULAR PREACHING IS TAKING FROM

Isaiah 6

1 In the year that
Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. note

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: note

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. note

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. note

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. note

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

NOTICE ISAIAH TALKING IN VERSE 1.
IN VERSE 5 YOU SEE ISAIAH LAMENTING OVER HIS UNCLEANNESS AND AN ANGEL PURIFYING HIM IN VERSES 6 & 7. THESE COULDN’T REFER TO JESUS BECAUSE HE WAS, AND HAS BEEN WITHOUT SIN.
NOTICE THAT IN VERSE 8 IT WAS THIS UNCLEAN ISAIAH THAT WAS SCARED AT THE SIGHT OF GOD WHO SAID “SEND ME AND I WILL GO”. HE WAS SENT WITH A SPECIFIC MESSAGE IN VERSES 9 & 10.

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. note

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

WHEN JESUS CAME, HE DIDN’T COME WITH THAT MESSAGE. HE GAVE US HIS MANIFESTO WHICH WAS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT WE SEE HERE.

Luk 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed

THE FORMER WAS SENT TO SHUT PEOPLE’S EYES BUT THE LATTER WAS SENT TO OPEN THEM.

YOU SEE, NO MATTER HOW WE HAVE EVANGELISED WITH THIS MESSAGE IT WAS WRONG. GOD DOESN’T WANT US TO BE PREACHING ERRORS. WE HAVE TO STUDY TO RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH.
