In response to the invitation of Pastor Benjamin Yakubu, the Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church in Derma-Kofikrom, we started our first assignment from 5-10 January, 2015 . Four members of our team headed by Pastor Eric Owusu Barnie left for the small town.
The journey was tiring. Reaching the place in the afternoon, we had to prepare to minister in the evening. The power of God reigned through us. We saw from all indications that the land was thirsty for the power of God.
On the first day, the move of God was refreshing to the people. The old town was glad to receive us for thinking about them and coming from afar to empower them, not mindful of how typical their village was. As young as we were, they understood that the anointing had nothing to do with age.
Day 2 was simply awesome in God’s presence. Many who came to see us on individual basis in the morning encountered the prophetic and the power of God. Lives were led to Christ through this encounter. As a result of this the crusade in the evening was charged with the expectations of the people for the power of God. The word of God which was centred on the purpose of Christ in our lives was penetrating and uplifting. Having being stirred up through the word, the atmosphere of prayer was charged. Indeed there was a great revival in the lives of the people of Kofikrom springing faith in their hearts. Hallelujah.
The programme continued with morning sessions (meeting them on individual basis) in the church building and evening crusades in the town up to the third day. On Day 4 and 5, we held the evening meetings in the church and taught them specific topics as given to us by their Pastor based on the needs of the church. On the evening of Day 5, a special session of prayer was held. Bondages were broken, people were empowered by the anointing that was present. We met the leadership of the town on Day 6, prayed for them and bid them goodbye. Oh! How they entreated us to stay for some more days! The prayers and support of our members made this possible. We are glad to be workers in the Lord’s vineyard.
